I ordered this set and it fits great. I’m like 4’11 ish/almost 5 ft. I ordered the 150 cm option. The Gi was size 1.5 and hakama size 22. Again, the size of the set was great for me. I really like the material as well. It is soft and also light weight! When it arrived, it was packaged nicely too. I would definitely buy this again in the future.

I wasn’t really in the market for new Bogu but that changed suddenly when I was scrolling through social media and a post from my good friend Yong wook Back came up. There it was…. Black, grey and silver shimmering all at once and paired with an Indigo Mune with Grey and Black stitching. I found myself whispering in a voice that resembled that skinny bloke in Lord of the Rings….” The Precious “…I knew I had to have it. In no time at all my order was efficiently processed and I was regularly updated on progress in the making of this special Do Dai.
My order arrived in the UK within the promised time and to say I was delighted with the Do Dai would be an understatement. Not only does it look unique and finished to the highest possible standards but it is so very light to wear in Keiko whilst offering great protection at the same time. I would definitely recommend the products and service levels from Hokubei Bogu and will certainly be ordering again.

Thank you very much, sensei.🙂↕️The armor (Haechi Bogu) is very comfortable. I highly recommend it. The armor adapts well to combat. The purchase includes all Tenugui, Himo, and Chichigawa . I really enjoy buying Hokubei Budogu products because of their high quality.

I bought this wonderful spray while in Seattle for the Women's Taikai. While it may be sold as a bogu deodorizer, I have yet only had to use it once on my bogu...
Where this shines as a wonderful product, is that you can use it like a name brand body spray (we all know the one) without smelling like a middle school locker room. I use this on my gi after every keiko, athletic clothing, and even myself once or twice. Instead of washing my gi every keiko, it dulls the smells out so well I have to remind myself to wash my gi every 2-3 keiko just so its not gross.
My musty old bogu, all of a sudden smelled clean after two short applications of this deodorizer. It even helped dull the "new bogu" smell in my new Men that was making me a bit nauseous.
No matter *why* you get this, you will find a use for it. Spray it on your running shorts, spray it on your gi, use it for the intended purpose of your bogu, whatever it is, this actually does its job to make things not stink.
Will be buying a refill without a doubt one of these days.

Recently I started backup after a 10 year gap period and was asking the owner of hokubeibudogu on recommendation on shinais. Since he has an idea of my exotic style he recommended me to find balance and calmness through this particular shinai. After I was able to hold one at one of the pop-ups he offers I was hooked. I will consistently use this one for tournaments and rotate it during regular practices.

Personally, I consider this bag a humble shinai bag. It can carry up to 4-5 shinais and has exceptional amount of space for other accessories. What's in my bag? For regular practices, I carry two shinais (tournaments at least three). On the top compartment, I have three Tsuba, two Tsubadome, and contact case/solution. The bottom portion, I have four rolls of sports tape and a pick set. This is my EDC when going to practices and tournaments.

This Bogu bag is the answer to all your travel anxiety. The retractable handle and sturdy wheels make transportation much easier compared to traditional duffel or bogu bags, particularly over long distances or through airports. With ample space, it comfortably fits men, kote, do, tare, a keikogi, hakama, and even a placement holder for your shinai bag. It also has external pocket and compartments for first aid essentials. If you don't like rolling it or feel bad for the person next to you that doesn't have this convenient feature it also has the option to turn into a backpack. Ditch the old school bogu bags and upgrade! You won't regret it!

This bag has been essential to my every day kendo life.
I often commute using local transit and being able to roll my equipment around has been a blessing.
The build quality is excellent, with the wheels staying in great condition in spite of rough sidewalks and pavement. Additionally, I appreciate that the design of the bag doesn't draw too much attention when traveling.
The bag is very spacious - I am able to carry two sets of bogu with ease, making it easier when traveling with my partner. (Although we end up carrying our uniforms separately as a result, it's much easier than handling two bogu bags)
I've also found the backpack mode incredibly useful for when I need to free up my hands, such as handling my rolling carryon bag at the airport.
The flap that stores the backpack straps folds down and attaches to the bottom of the bag with velcro, covering up the wheels when carrying on your back for extra comfort, a feature I found to be quite thoughtful.
This is an excellent product and I recommend anyone in the market for a bogu bag to purchase this and never look back.

In close to 20yrs of practice, I’ve always stuck to chokuto or koto balance shinai for its resemblance to a live blade. Once I tried the Oyama koto at the annual summer camp, I noticed how it did not feel top heavy at all, but rather perfectly balanced. The fine balance significantly improved my overall feeling and strength during practice and was worth every gram of bamboo gold. Also, the bamboo was fresh and is still holding strong after many months later of continuous practice. Highly recommended and will purchase more in the future! Thank you Hokubei Budogu!

They're amazing little plastic statues! This is the sort of thing that runs out the moment it restocks, so if you like to decorate your desk or give a kendo friend a cool and niche gift, hop on it!

I've gotten three of these so far, engraved with our club's logo! The tiny kote are SO CUTE and incredibly well-detailed for something so small! Thumb wars are way more hilarious now.
Adorable shinai pen not included, but just to show how awesome it is.

This is the shinai I prefer for regular kendo practice. I'm no expert, but thanks to Hokubei's great customer service, I could easily ask their team for what shinai would be best for my needs.
I wanted a shinai that was lighter at the top while still being affordable and sturdy, and this delivered. I'm in a more humid area so it makes care easy. It also takes harder kirikaeshi strikes on those days when they're a bit more heavy. When it comes to an everyday, trusty shinai, the women's 39 Ichikawa is a great value.

I like to make sure I try to keep my bogu as near as I can, but I'm not yet at a stage where I'm submerging my men and waiting a couple of days for it to dry. So after practices, I like to use this spray! I used to use a deodorizer that was for boxing gloves and gym equipment, but I didn't like how it smelled.
This, however, is incredible. If video could transmit the horrible stench of a sweaty kote...well, I sniffed one of my kote and while it's not as bad as my partner's, I was not a fan of it. One spray with this deodorizer and it's like, HOW DOES IT NOT SMELL SO BAD NOW? It dries quickly and can also be used to remove stains, which I'm going to try to do today with some of the sweat that's built up in my men.
I'm always going to keep an eye on the restocks. I find that the spray bottle has a bit of a delayed spray to it, which allows me to cover more ground with one squeeze. I recently bought the refill too, so if you want to use a regular spray bottle, I'm sure you can. But if you refill this one, just be careful to not fill it too high. Since it's a special nozzle, there's more to it, and I accidentally spilled a bit when I tried to close it, because...that's how liquids work. Anyway, all told, if you see it in stock, try it out! I use it only for bogu, but it can used for whatever sports equipment that might get a little icky.

Ordered these for our club. The quality and craftsmanship are outstanding! Company was easy to work with and made sure our zekken were done exactly like we wanted, and kept me informed throughout the entire process. The 3D embroidery is a nice, subtle touch, as well, and myself and our members have loved them. Highly recommended!

Have used various bogu bags from the cheap cloth to nice roller bags. This is probably my favorite bag of them all. It is very light but sturdy. Lots of pockets on side and top. Can easily fit enough for a weekend seminar or tournament. Also can fit in overhead bin extremely easily
