Hokubei Budogu is extremely proud to announce that we are a reseller of Sehyun’s Kendo Bogu in the United States.
Korea has the 2nd largest Kendo population outside of Japan, and Sehyun has been at the forefront of designing, manufacturing, and improving Kendogu since 1978. Sehyun is favored by many past, current, and upcoming Korean National Team members, as well as beginners in the Kendo community.
Hokubei Budogu will be working closely with Sehyun to introduce their bogu line in North America: from entry-level to custom bogu.

We believe that a shinai is the most important piece of equipment when it comes to Kendo. Yes, kendogi, hakama, bogu, are all important too, however, without a shinai it is practically impossible to train.

Kendo is a great martial art and involves a lot of attention to detail during learning, training, and practicing – even when it comes to equipment. Hokubei Budogu is here to help.
We are not only about selling equipment in the USA. We aim to contribute to the growth of our community of Kendoka by being actively engaged within the established community and to guide beginners to get the proper education about this wonderful martial art, its related equipment, and, most importantly to have access to high-quality products at competitive prices.
Community service is also of importance for our business. A portion of our profit will be used to help dojos and clubs get exposure in their respective communities, through our added free service KendoNearMe.com. Furthermore, we have another platform, CollegeKendo.com, which is to promote the practice of Kendo at colleges throughout the United States.
